Automation Technician

Under the supervision of the Equipment Development Director and the Electrical Project Manager, you will be involved in the realization of various custom projects, from the simplest to the most complex, in order to meet our clients' needs, while respecting our high standards of quality.

Responsibilities

  • Program variable speed drives (VFD or servo), programmable logic controllers (PLC), control interfaces (HMI) and industrial robots;
  • Perform inspection camera programming;
  • Confirm client needs with the project manager (including OHS requirements);
  • Evaluate component requirements and associated costs;
  • Establish the energy requirements of the equipment to be designed;
  • Delivering functional and trouble-free equipment;
  • Participate in the installation and start-up of the developed equipment;
  • Proceed to the assembly of the electrical panels and realize the electrical plans according to the rules of the art;
  • Proceed to the resolution of problems (trouble shooting) on equipment in operation;
  • Performs any other task requested by his/her immediate supervisor in relation to his/her area of expertise and knowledge.

Qualifications

Special skills: Computer knowledge, Windows and MS Office environment. Very good knowledge of variable speed drive tools and PLC programming software. Very good knowledge of automation and control of manufacturing equipment. Knowledge of industrial robots (an asset). Bilingual.

Required skills: Responsible, rigorous, resourceful, autonomous, versatile and reliable. Good communication, observation skills and analytical memory. Rigor and concentration in execution. Demonstrate leadership, team spirit, creativity and adaptability. Good management of priorities and quality standards.

Training

  • Degree in automation and control or electronics or any combination of equivalent training and/or experience;
  • Minimum experience of 3 to 5 years in a similar position in a manufacturing environment.Experience in electrical panel assembly.
