Robotics, automation and R&D specialist
Reporting to the R&D Director, the incumbent will act as an expert in robotics and automated systems design to carry out and ensure the management and deployment of projects within the R&D department. He/she will also be responsible for the certification of systems (CE, CSA, UL) in terms of machine safety and robotics. All this within a multidisciplinary team composed of experts in high-tech product development and using the Agile approach.

Responsibilities
- Develop and introduce in plant food processing on robotic, automated and connected platforms (IIoT);
- Participate in the design and development of technology platforms and systems and provide specifications ;
- Participate in the programming of PLCs, drives, operator interfaces and other components related to equipment automation;
- Participate in the design of electrical plans and control panels in accordance with current electrical standards using various computer programs;
- Solve problems related to its projects by proposing innovative solutions;
- Make modifications to existing products;
- Communicate with various project stakeholders including suppliers and subcontractors;
- Follow up on assembly and testing and make changes to components in documentation;
- Participate in the establishment of budgets and schedules in collaboration with the project managers;
- Participate in the implementation of best practices in the organization thanks to his in-depth knowledge of robotics and automated systems design;
- Write technical documents and train the service team;
- Identify opportunities for improvement and optimization and propose solutions;
- Participate in the resolution of problems related to its projects by proposing innovative solutions;
- To plan at the automation/electrical level the FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), the SAT (Site Acceptance Test), the external inspections (CSA-UL) and to coordinate the actions which can result from it if necessary;
- Participate in the installation and start-up of prototypes by adjusting and modifying equipment to optimize their operation in real life situations;
- Participate in the planning and coordination of the installation and start-up of automation/electrical components, ensuring that all participants are trained and informed of factory and site safety standards ;
- At the end of the project, report on the various opportunities to be considered for future projects, with the aim of continuous improvement;
- Ensure the application of health and safety standards and laws in force (OSHA and LSST) on the construction sites and in the plant.
Qualifications
- Have a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in the design and development of robotic and automated systems;
- Experience in automation project management;
- Master the technologies of robotics, automation and industrial electricity;
- Good knowledge of safety standards in the field of automation and electricity on site;
- Good communication and analytical skills;
- Be able to travel to the United States (+/- 5-6 times per year) ;
- Possess a valid passport and driver's license.
Training
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automated Production Engineering or Industrial Electronics or other equivalent education.
