Specialist in automation and industrial computing
The incumbent will analyze, test and standardize industrial network plans used in our applications. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for planning and monitoring the deployment of network and automation components of projects. Finally, the incumbent must work in collaboration with application specialists in the fields of vision and robotics.

Responsibilities
- Perform design, maintenance and analysis of industrial networks (administration, configuration);
- Perform data acquisition and analysis (databases);
- Configure and install computerized systems and vision systems;
- Configure and install computerized and vision systems; Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, modifications and adjustments to Allen Bradley and Siemens computerized and vision systems (PLC) ;
- Manage program backups (PLC, HMI, etc.) for the various industrial control systems;
- Participate in the purchase of certain new equipment or major components within a multidisciplinary working group;
- Programming human-machine interfaces (HMI) Rockwell and Siemens ;
- Program various reports using dedicated industry software or open solutions such as SQL Reporting Services;
- Actively participate in factory trials (FAT);
- Participate in the installation and start-up of systems sold to customers (SAT) by adjusting and modifying equipment to optimize their operation in real-life situations;
- Participate in the standardization of existing technologies and equipment;
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers with deployed technologies;
- Work in close collaboration with the different people working on the projects (project managers, PLC programming, electrical engineering, etc.);
- Provide occasional user training;
- Ensure the application of Frontmatec health and safety standards and applicable laws (OSHA and OHSA) on the job sites and in the plant.
Qualifications
- 6 to 9 years experience in industrial computing or related field;
- Experience in automation project management. (an asset);
- Mastery of industrial networking;
- Mastery of SQL databases;
- Mastery of industrial computer systems;
- Experience with PLC, Allen-Bradley and Siemens;
- C++ programming on Windows (Visual Studio);
- Read and interpret electrical drawings;
- Sense of analysis and logic;
- Resourcefulness & Professionalism;
- Advanced English (oral and written);
- Be able to travel to the United States (+/- 4-5 times per year) ;
- Ease with customer contact;
- Knowledge of Factory talk view (an asset);
- Knowledge of the Autodesk Suite (Autocad electrical) and RS Logic 5000 (an asset).
Training
- Degree in industrial computing or electrical engineering or automated production engineering.
