Industrial Engineer

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for activities related to the analysis of customer drawings. He prepares BOMs for costing, as well as project action plans. They monitor the progress of work.

He is responsible for liaising with production to meet customer requirements. He is responsible for managing the ISO system and internal quality procedures.

Responsibilities

Engineering & projects :

Ensure that submissions are processed and put into production

  • Technical analysis of new project bids (technical specifications, drawings, BOM)
  • Analyze the tooling required for production start-up
  • Prepare and transmit quotation to customer and ensure customer follow-up (in conjunction with sales team).

Participates in project production

  • Coordinate tool manufacturing
  • Transmit specifications and information to the various teams to ensure smooth production start-up
  • Hand over the list of tasks to be carried out and deadlines to be met from production start-up and new project development to planning.
  • Lists customer documentation such as tooling and parts drawings.
  • Validate tooling before use
  • Validates and tests production start-up before launching a full production run related to a change or a new product
  • Coordinates the various tests required by the customer according to established specifications. (Test plate, fire standard, metrology report, etc.)
  • etc.)
  • Ensures the collaboration of all project stakeholders and provides them with information relevant to the success of the project
  • Ensures that all information on invoicing for tooling and other billable developments is passed on.

Manage customer change requests`:

  • Validates impact on manufacturing costs, prepares and submits bids, if required.
  • Communicates impacts with the production team. (Quality, planning, production, purchasing, accounting)
  • Corrects BOMs, if required

Participates in and carries out special projects assigned by the business development department
Maintains, drafts and documents the R&D (research and development) file for government applications.
Completes all forms and maintains documents required by government authorities related to the environment. (Certificates, and federal and provincial registration)
Analyzes and proposes improvement solutions for new projects (parts, tooling, etc.) in collaboration with the customer.
Keeps management informed of all new technologies and processes related to composite materials (Technology watch).

  • Quality assurance :

Responds to customer requests for changes (internal, external) and sees to their implementation.
Responsible for the closure, follow-up and feedback with customers on non-conformities.
Collects and analyzes quality data as well as the implementation of actions and indicators.
Collaborates and validates the implementation of quality procedures.

  • Customer service :

Maintains relationships and development communications with customer engineering departments.


  • ISO :

Responsible for the day-to-day application of the quality system on the production floor.
Responsible for the ISO system and sets up documentation.
Responsible for external customer audits.

  • Collaboration section :

Carries out any other related tasks required by the position.
Recommends any necessary changes to ensure quality objectives are met.
Provides support to the USA under the same conditions.


  • Human resources :

Communicates established expectations and results to the various employees.
Maintains a good level of performance and motivation with its employees.

Qualifications

  • Computer skills (MS Office Suite, drawings);
  • Member of the Order of Engineers (Optional);
  • Fluency in spoken and written French;
  • Understand both spoken and written English;
  • Motivational leadership focused on performance and results;

Training

  • Degree in industrial or mechanical engineering;
