Robotics systems engineer

At our head office in Quebec City, you'll have both hands in the development of complex automated solutions for customer robotics and R&D projects. The systems engineer will support the project design team in the development of laser solutions using technologies developed by Laserax.

Reporting to the product development supervisor, the person will identify the difficulties to be overcome at the start of the project, validate proofs of concept and generate precise technical specifications for solution development.

Responsibilities

  • Support application specialists, engineering and R&D departments in the development of complex
    robotics projects;
  • Collaborates with project managers to meet customer needs and deadlines;
  • Defines and presents solutions during the preliminary design phase;
  • Draw up specifications for customer projects;
  • Guides the programming of robotic solution systems to meet technical requirements;
  • Identifies project risks and technical uncertainties;
  • Develops automated logic and system specifications (robot, PLC, software, interface, etc.);
  • Participates in writing test plans for the systems designed;
  • Plan and execute various tests to validate initial hypotheses;
  • Supports the sales team in project bidding.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience;
  • Experience in automated equipment development and integration;
  • Excellent team spirit combined with a sense of autonomy and initiative;
  • Demonstrate rigor, accuracy and precision;
  • Bilingual (English and French) ;
  • Be available to travel on occasion;
  • Member in good standing of the OIQ ;
  • Experience in off-line robotics simulation (Roboguide, RobotStudio, RobotDK, etc.);
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks software (asset).

Training

  • University degree in robotics, automation or mechanical engineering ;
