Automation and robotics engineer

The main mandate of the automation engineer is to support the start-up of automated systems, to perform commissioning and after-sales support at the customer's site for the automated and robotized equipment of the Matissequipment division.

• Schedule at your choice between 36 and 40 hours per week;
• Hourly wage with customer bonus;

• Flexible schedule over 4.5 days (yes that means your PM Fridays off) ;

• Participate in the development of PLC software, operator interfaces and robot software as directed by the designer;
• Implement the different programs in the facilities;
• Validate system inputs/outputs;
• Update electrical connection drawings as required;
• Verify the proper functioning of the program and ensure its synergy with the other components of the system;
• Perform simulations to confirm functionality and obtain provisional acceptance;
• Carry out the global simulation before the integration at the customer's site.
• Participate in installations and commissioning at the customer's site;
• Install the system components at the customer's site according to Matiss standards;
• Support the commissioning of the system at the customer site;
• Make corrections and adjustments to meet specifications;
• Confirm the operating sequences and perform the final acceptance;
• Provide technical support to customers after commissioning;
• Perform preventive maintenance;
• Troubleshoot equipment or appliance problems;
• Advise on spare parts if needed;
• Assist/train the people involved;
• Offer products or services;
• Write and/or update systems technical manuals;
• Collaborate with team members and other departments;
• Respect the safety instructions at all times, whether at Matiss or at the customer's premises;
• Perform any other duties as required.

• Advanced Intermediate (French/English) ;
• Knowledge of Logix (Allen Bradley) or TIA Portal (Siemens), Fanuc/ABB (Atout) ;
• Ability to integrate PLC and robot software;
• Knowledge of blueprint reading;
• Interest in automation;
• Mechanical/pneumatic knowledge (an asset);
• Knowledge of AutoCAD (an asset) ;
• Manual (able to work with his hands);
• Mobile; available for travel (Canada/US);
• Structured, organized, efficient;
• Meticulous, self-starter, resourceful and solution-oriented;
• Communication skills and customer focus.
