Responsibilities
The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump systems in commercial and residential settings.
The candidate we are seeking works primarily with air conditioning systems, commercial refrigeration systems, cold storage rooms, heat pumps, and other related systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and residential refrigeration systems;
- Perform equipment commissioning and adjustments;
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration malfunctions;
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment;
- Check pressures, temperatures, and operating parameters;
- Conduct leak detection and make any necessary repairs;
- Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, and recharge in accordance with applicable standards;
- Perform maintenance on various types of equipment: air conditioning systems, heat pumps, commercial refrigeration units, cold storage rooms, and similar equipment;
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and refrigeration diagrams;
- Replace defective components and make any necessary repairs;
- Perform functional tests after service;
- Complete maintenance and service reports;
- Comply with health and safety standards and the employer's procedures.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience as a refrigeration technician;
- Experience in commercial and/or residential refrigeration;
- Experience in industrial refrigeration is not required;
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump systems;
- Basic or advanced knowledge of electrical systems and controls;
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems;
- Ability to read technical drawings and diagrams;
- Independence, thoroughness, and a commitment to doing the job right;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- A valid driver's license, as required by the position;
Training
- Vocational training or a degree in refrigeration, air conditioning, or a related field;
