Technical Expert MES
The MES technical expert, in addition to the responsibilities related to the MES designer-programmer position, acts as a technical leader within the team. He actively participates in the definition of technical standards and methods in his field of expertise. He maintains his knowledge of the latest technologies and passes on the knowledge acquired to his colleagues. He also participates in business development efforts.

Responsibilities
- Programming of MES software (GE suite, Wonderware, etc.) ;
- Integration with other systems using different middleware (ERP, WES, AGV, etc.);
- Participation in the development of business logic;
- Testing and deployment of programs at the client's site;
- Training of the customer's operators or technicians;
- Participation in brainstorming activities to solve complex technical problems;
- Participation in project meetings and those requiring technical skills;
- Coaches and advises colleagues in his or her area of expertise;
- Writing and implementation of documentation and technical processes;
- Assists business development activities by providing technology solutions during the project evaluation and estimating process;
- Performs all other related duties as they pertain to this description.
We are looking for an experienced candidate who is motivated and wants to play an important role in our team. You will need to be creative in finding functional solutions. You should also have a passion for learning new technologies.
Most of the work is done in Montreal, but you must be able to travel outside the region when required. The role may involve travel, a driver's license, car and valid passport will be required.
Qualifications
- Experience in programming (SQL, CSharp, Workflow, etc.) ;
- Easy to learn different types of programming languages;
- Increased knowledge of the conventions, standards and regulations governing its field of expertise;
- Knowledge of Agile methodology - an asset;
- Knowledge of various industries - an asset;
- Good communicator and easy to transmit knowledge;
- Have leadership, initiative and good work organization.
Training
- Degree in software engineering, electrical engineering, automated production, or equivalent experience;
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in his/her field of expertise;
- Member of the Order of Engineers - an asset.
