Electrical technician

The electrical technician will be responsible for programming, maintaining and following up on equipment failures in order to improve performance. He/she will also provide technical support to all persons related to his/her duties.

Responsibilities

  • Repair various electrical or electronic faults, detect the source of the problem and remedy by making modifications, if necessary;
  • Perform the programming of various PLCs or interface software for the improvement or maintenance of equipment;
  • Update and follow up on electrical diagrams, computer and PLC program lists;
  • Update equipment drawings (electrical diagrams);
  • Complete various maintenance reports using the maintenance software;
  • Contact distributors to obtain quotes on various parts. Inform the supplier of his research so that he can confirm the purchase order to the distributor and follow up on the orders, in order to be able to plan the time of the repairs;
  • Ensure that the inventory of equipment and spare parts is constant so that the company has the right number of each part and place orders as needed;
  • Perform calibrations on various equipment;
  • Perform and follow up on preventive maintenance on various equipment, according to the order of priorities;
  • Receive training to keep your knowledge up to date when new equipment, components and software arrive;
  • Ensure the quality of his work;
  • Respect the rules of safety and maintenance of the premises and keep the work area clean and clear.

Qualifications

  • Ability to draw diagrams (Autocad) ;
  • Ability to program different PLCs;
  • Intermediate English (an asset) ;
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel and Maint (Microsoft Suite) ;

Training

  • Degree in electrical engineering in a related field or 3 to 5 years experience in industries.
