Mechanical draughtsman
Our client is specialized in the design, manufacturing and assembly of numerically controlled machine tools as well as automated and robotic systems. Located in Granby, the company offers value-added solutions to a well-established clientele working in the aeronautics, railway, defense, energy and various industrial specialties.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Designer will be part of a dynamic environment where he/she will be called upon to develop complex mechanical concepts according to specifications.

Responsibilities
- Design and/or adapt sub-assemblies and their components specifically to the specifications;
- Define complete solutions including the necessary methods and components;
- Participate in brainstorming meetings;
- Perform traditional or finite element calculations;
- Optimize the costs of the proposed solutions;
- Establish sub-component specifications, technical choices and supplier follow-up;
- Modeling and drawing.
Qualifications
- Good knowledge of 3D modeling and MS Office suite;
- Good capacity of analysis and synthesis;
- Good knowledge of manufacturing methods, machining, welding and sheet metal work;
- Good knowledge of functional quotation; Good organizational skills;
- Demonstrate teamwork, resourcefulness and self-reliance.
Assets:
- Knowledge of TPC CREO and Windchill software;
- Knowledge of machine tool standards;
- Knowledge of finite element analysis.
Training
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering;
- 5+ years of experience in power machine design or industrial automation.
