Electrical designer

Our client specializes in the design, manufacturing and assembly of numerically controlled machine tools as well as automated and robotized systems. Located in Granby, the company offers value-added solutions to a well-established clientele working in the aeronautics, railway, defense, energy and various industrial specialties.

Reporting to the Head of the BEE Department, the Electrical Designer will design machines according to commercial specifications and drawings from the Mechanical Department.

• Electrical design of machines according to customer requirements;
• Schematics: distribution and control ;
• Define the specifications of the sub-assemblies;
• Communicate with subcontractors;
• Produce general and detailed drawings;
• Define the standard components to be used in the electrical field;
• Calculations: low voltage distribution for the motorization ;
• Meet deadlines and budgets;
• Maintain internal standards for electrical design of machines;
• Assist internal customers.

• Knowledge of Autocad and the Office suite;
• Knowledge of Canadian and/or American machine safety standards and codes. European standards are an asset;
• Sistema / Risk Analysis;
• Knowledge of industrial automation;
• Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics;
• Knowledge of PLC / SPLC programming;
• Able to manage priorities;
• Team spirit, resourcefulness and autonomy.
