Responsibilities

  • If necessary, you will consult and analyze engineers' plans and specifications to gain a thorough understanding of the project;
  • You'll make sure you talk to the right people to understand the customer's needs;
  • You'll make site visits to gather the information you need to produce the most accurate design possible;
  • You'll conduct research to determine the various possible options for designing the project to meet the customer's expectations;
  • You'll talk to suppliers of specialized components;
  • You'll determine the best way to carry out the project and design it from start to finish;
  • You'll produce electrical and mechanical drawings of control panels;
  • You will draw single-line diagrams;
  • You'll create layout drawings;
  • You will make the necessary modifications to the drawings after completion;
  • You will carry out the project's budget submission based on the design;
  • You will support the in-house team (e.g. Project Manager) during the project for all technical questions related to the design;
  • You'll be helping to improve the design department and implement new, more optimal ways of doing things.

Qualifications

  • You have 2 to 5 years' experience in electrical design/drawing;
  • You've already worked with electrical drawing software (EPlan would be an asset);
  • You're familiar with electrical and automation standards;
  • You know the different electrical components;
  • You're meticulous and like your work well done;
  • You like to collaborate and work as part of a team;
  • You adapt easily to change.

Training

  • You have a relevant background in electrical engineering.
