Formwork Carpenter – Foundation and Construction

The Formwork Carpenter is responsible for preparing, assembling, and installing the formwork needed to construct concrete structures.

The person we are looking for is primarily involved in foundation work , formwork for walls, slabs, footings, and other concrete structures, ensuring compliance with the plans, dimensions, and site requirements.

Key Responsibilities

‍

• Read and interpret construction plans and drawings;
• Prepare the surfaces and materials needed for formwork;
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install formwork components;
• Install formwork for foundations, walls, footings, slabs, and other concrete structures;
• Position and adjust the formwork to ensure that the required dimensions and levels are met;
• Install the reinforcements, supports, and other components needed to hold the formwork in place;
• Check the alignment, plumb, level, and stability of the structures before pouring the concrete;
• Assist with concrete preparation and pouring;
• Remove the formwork after the concrete has set;
• Clean, maintain, and reuse formwork materials and equipment;
• Use various hand tools and power tools;
• Work collaboratively with the concrete, rebar, and construction teams;
• Follow the plans, work procedures, and on-site instructions;
• Strictly comply with occupational health and safety standards.

• Relevant experience in formwork for foundations and/or concrete structures;
• Strong ability to read and understand construction drawings;
• Proficiency in the use of formwork tools;
• Ability to perform simple measurements and calculations;
• Good physical condition and the ability to work on construction sites;
• Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces, depending on the job;
• Independence, precision, and a commitment to a job well done;
• Strong ability to work as part of a team;
• Compliance with health and safety rules;
