Responsibilities
The Trailer Driver is responsible for safely operating various types of trucks with trailers to ensure the transport and delivery of goods, materials, or equipment.
The candidate must ensure compliance with traffic safety rules, company procedures, and delivery deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a truck with a trailer to transport goods, materials, or equipment;
- Travel according to the established routes and instructions;
- Perform pre-trip checks and vehicle inspections;
- Ensure that the cargo is properly distributed, stowed, and secured;
- Load and unload as needed;
- Follow traffic rules and road safety standards;
- Make deliveries on time;
- Complete the required shipping documents, waybills, and reports;
- Check the overall condition of the truck and trailer;
- Report any defects, malfunctions, or mechanical problems;
- Keep the vehicle clean and in good condition;
- Communicate with customers, dispatchers, and operations managers;
- Comply with company policies and the regulations governing road transportation in Quebec.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience as a truck driver with a trailer;
- A driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being driven;
- Thorough knowledge of safety rules and road transport regulations;
- Experience driving heavy vehicles;
- Good ability to maneuver while towing a trailer;
- Knowledge of procedures for securing and stowing cargo;
- Good driving record;
- Independence, punctuality, and a sense of responsibility;
- Ability to work independently and manage various itineraries;
- Good physical condition, as required by the position;
